Our company doesn't have Xmas party nor annual dinner.  They have a D&D each year around Xmas time.....

16 Dec 2005
This year's D&D theme is "Mardi Gras".  Since only a few ppl dressed to the theme, they became the centre of attentions soon after they arrived at the venue : a group of 3 guys and 4 ladies who dressed up in greek chitons, a lady dressed up as Cleopatra and our Japanese agents who dressed up as "the prince & the princess"

Convicted trafficker Nguyen pays price (headline of TODAY newspaper on 2 December 2005)

Convicted Australian drug trafficker Nguyen Tuong Van 25, was executed at Changi Prison this morning................

Nguyen, a former Melbourne salesman, was sentenced to death after he was caught in 2002 with 396.2g of heroin at Changi Airport while in transit from Cambodia to Melbourne.  His high-profile case attracted international attention, with several Australian leaders appealing to the Singapore Government to spare his life.

The convict was 25 years old who took up the task for drug trafficking to pay off the debt and law case fee for his twin brother back home in Melbourne.  Although the Australian government has been lobbying for clemency but it eventually failed.

This issue had aroused anti-Singaporean activities in Australia.

Some Australian clemency sentiments have morphed into unfair and witless attacks on Singapore: Official calls for trade bans; threats of long-term resentment; a union's talk of refusing to service Singapore Airlines planes at Australian airports; and even the insulting characterisation of Singapore as a 'rogue Chinese port city'......(Nguyen pushed drugs despite twin's addiction...by Warren K. Woo California, USA, ST Forum 2 Dec 2005)
