Now is the most spectacular time to visit Singapore because three big festivals of the different cultures are celebrating at the same period of time : (information from Singapore Tourism Board)
Deepavali - INDIA - Festival of Lights (Celebrated by the Hindus, Deepavali and the spectacular Deepavali Light-up sees the profusion of oil lamps being lilt at devotees' houses to usher in brightness, good fortune and divine blessings for the New Year ahead.)
Date - 21st Sep 2006 to 29th Oct 2006 (Festival Village(bazaar)at Campbell Lane from 22 Sep - 21 Oct.)
Venue - Little India, Little India MRT
What's on - This period transforms lively Little India into a busy festive village.  Catchy music, lively Indian dances and iconic art fill your senses while colourful wear and tasty fare everywhere in Little India.
Hari Raya - MALAY - Muslim New Year - A special date for the Muslim community, Hari Raya Puasa marks the end of a month-long fasting period.  Celebrated by Muslims across the globe, it is a good time for nurturing a sense of community spirit.
Date - 22nd Sep 2006 to 31st Oct 2006
Activities  - (Live Opening Ceremony-22 Sep Hari Raya Eve Concert-24 Oct)
Venue - Malay Village, Peya Lebar MRT
What's on - During that period, look forward to bazaars of tempting delicacies, trendy garments and gift ideas.

Moon Festival - CHINESE - Celebrate the full moon and family reunion
Date - 23rd Sep 2006 to 15th Oct 2006
(Festival Street Market-23 Sep - 6 Oct at Pagoda, Trengganu and Sago Street) )
Venue 1 - China Town, China Town MRT
What's on - The Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated with a festive street light-up and bazaar stalls selling mooncakes, pomelos, tea and an assortment of festive goodies.
Venue 2- Chinese Garden, Chinese Garden MRT 
What's on - Huge themed lanterns in the garden and celebration performances.
Of course if you come other than those festival times, you can always get your super tourguide - Poo to tour you around and enjoy the cheap & good local food :P~

they are all stretching out for a period of time, can go anytime :)

Hari Raya bazaar is across the road of my home, so I walk past and try their food almost everynite ;) hahaha... emoticon
